Chatsworth International Horse Trials

So, just under 3 weeks to go, till the launch of my long awaited tweed range at Chatsworth International Horse Trials

I am literally sewing when I wake till I go to bed, with a couple of dog walks and my day job in between. I don't mind telling you, that although Harris Tweed may look the bees knees, it is easier to sew a silk nightie, with Patrick and May breathing down your neck. They should rename it Harris Spandex, it stretches and moves so much! An abundance of careful handling and concentration is required. That said, there is nothing like the look of the rich fibres, mixed with my pretty cottons.

Every time I make a new waistcoat, I say "its my favourite." My business partner Val, has started to call me Bruce Forsyth! I have attached a new photo of a waistcoat with a pretty rose floral back, to match the collars on the shirt. It is soo cute. I am sure this will be a popular little number and the sizes start at 3 to 6 months right the way through to ladies.

For myself, I wanted to get into the true spirit of Chatsworth so have treated myself to a dressage top hat, and of course have customised it with the obligatory tweed, with a sprinkling of diamantes. I love diamantes. I am so lucky that one of my closest friends runs a diamante business, so I request them every birthday and Christmas. ( is her website if any of you crafty lot want some, the quality is just as good as Swarovski and I should know because I used to buy thousands to decorate my daughters ballroom dresses!)

Hi Liz,really sorry for the delay in replying. I have been asked about tweed jackets and it may be something I consider later on this year.I'll keep you posted. If you have a particular style in mind let me know and I will see what I can do.

Spent all last winter trying to find a nice tweed jacket – to no avail – will you be doing some for this winter??
